Charessa SawyerEvent CuratorSC Visionary Planning and Production / Event Therapy Network

Charessa Sawyer, LMSW, CEP is a mental health advocate, advocate for event and entertainment professionals. She is also an event producer based out of Atlanta, Georgia. She received a master’s degree in social work and a certification in nonprofit management services from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and received her certification in event planning in 2013 in Atlanta, Georgia.

Charessa has extensive experience in therapeutic communications, life coaching and success in developing functional systems that support individuals and groups who face mental health challenges. Charessa uses effective communication, teamwork and concepts to address how mental health, business wellness, and relationships impact vulnerable individuals that are a part of high-stressed professions and groups. Specifically, Charessa found focus on the impact of these areas on event and entertainment professionals and created Event Therapy™️ Network, a separate entity from her event planning and production company, SC Visionary Planning & Production Services. Through networking activations, workshops, one on one and group services and learning resources, Charessa and the Event Therapy Network have effectively supported professionals to identify, engage and process their thoughts and feelings, as it relates to managing triggered emotions, life happenings, and event warfare.

In addition, the 2020 pandemic opened creative doors to develop ways to continue serving and addressing mental health through the event industry’s first mental health-focused publication, Event Therapy Magazine. First of its kind, Event Therapy Magazine has served to be a great resource that explores mental health, business wellness and relationship building for professionals. Charessa enjoys spending time at the beach, hanging out with her grandmother, nieces, and nephews and shares that meditation has been key to her consistent mental growth.
