Joshua Riggs has worked in the Denver special events industry for 12 plus years. Currently he is the Associate Director of Private Events at the Denver Botanic Gardens. At the Gardens, he oversees the venue sales team that is responsible for selling 13 unique event spaces that range from 3 to 2,500 guests; and approximately 250 events annually. He also oversees the Gardens AV Services team which manages built-in and rentable sound equipment. In 2014 he received his national CPCE certification (Certified Professional in Catering and Events) and serves as the President of the Greater Denver Chapter of NACE (National Association of Catering and Events) which provides networking and education opportunities for their 100 plus members. Prior to joining the Gardens, he managed the event spaces and catering at the Denver Art Museum. At the museum, he oversaw groups of various sizes in unique and traditional event settings Here he learned the art of on-premise catering serving the unique needs of a non-profit institution and increased outside event sales. Prior to this he was an entrepreneur and the Director of Sales and Marketing for Relish Catering and Events, a prominent Denver off-premise caterer. Where he worked to retool, rebrand, and focus on opening new markets and contributed to a systematic increase in event sales. Before this, he worked for Occasions by Sandy catering as their Senior Event Designer and received his culinary arts and event management degree in 2006 from Orange Coast College.
