Saved by Zero: Our guilty pleasures often catch up with us. We may not be regulated to reduce carbon at events, but Planet Earth will not wait for us to go on a CO2 diet. The sooner we start, the sooner we can nudge our supply chains to do the same so we can move to climate positive events. We have to change our approach immediately if we can even hope to move the needle to limit global warming and greenhouse gas emissions. Even though events by their nature are wasteful, and some GhG impacts are unavoidable, events do have the ability to reach net zero now if we all plan a little wiser and adopt sustainable event processes. But getting events to net zero starts with counting the true-cost of carbon usage. So, sharpen your pencils and tighten you belt and learn how to start creating a baseline carbon budget and put your event on a carbon diet and achieve meaningful sustainability and climate positive guest experiences. We all can be Zeros, more than just for one day….
