Most people recognize ROI as, 'Return On Investment'. Not me. Several months ago, I moderated a webinar on how to create events that yield a high ROI and I kept hearing repetitive words from the panelists, such as intention, purpose, and end goal. That is when I had a light bulb moment....It was never about making a return on investment, but rather, it was about making a return on intention! As I listened in on this, rhetorical questions began popping into my mind. "What is intention and when do you begin implementing it in the planning process?" Intention is an aim or a plan that is best implemented at the beginning of the planning process while keeping the end goal in mind. So as I see it, the intention is the attention to detail that makes for a memorable event experience. The best way to discover intention is by listening, asking a lot of questions, and engaging the 5 senses. After finding the intention, you then can reserve engineer any event to create a curated experience for each attendee.
